3D Lighting Things #____

Lighting tests. I was trying to make a mock up to the same lighting in this reference photo. I however had a few bumps and uppities.Materials I learned also help out with deciphering lighting such as the water itself just reflects the light above. That was a hard grasp to work with.

Safe to say, the first few tests were a bust.

However I kept at it. Eventually I replaced the sphere with an actual object to help compare and contrast things within the scene. I definitely feel that I got a bit closer to the subtle lighting feel. I plan on doing little lighting exercises like this to get better with working with the lights and colors. For this first one, I feel like I could have made it warmer.

Till next time though C:

3D things #____

A series of ‘steps’-I forgot to take constant steps throughout my process-in which this is a series of renders that I did while I was rendering and messing with lighting. As well as modeling. A temple-esque scene with two dog-esque statues was what I chose to do. Safe to say, layers upon layers upon layers of texturing went into those dogs.

When I get a chance, I want to go back and do touch ups on lighting and texturing the inner temple walls.

Character Design Exercise #____

Round and Edges~

“You got me going in circles~”-Alright enough singing. (Not really) A series of exercises that involved contorting and whatnot with basic shapes. Eventually progressed to applying said shapes into drawing a toy in space, utilizing shapes to help define the actual form of the toy.

“Why should I worrryy~Why Should I caaaarrree~”

Character Design #___

New Semester! I managed to snag a spot in a Character Design class (had to drop a class in order to get in but well worth it) and the first exercise (technically second but I arrived late into the class) was to draw a cube and a rectangle 25 times in differing angles and perspectives, At some point doing cubes, I realized that I was doing something wrong and didnt realize it until I was doing the rectangles.

At that point I will proudly say that I did not go back and correct the cubes and continued onward.

WIP progress

Progress with the model. I had trouble rigging and turning it all at once in order to get it to face the right way as well as scaling to keep it consitent but I managed to figure it out.

I will probably collapse after this weekend.

3D WIP Progress

Making a bit of process in my scene of animation where a little figurine is gazing at the sun, I was playing with lighting since hes sunbathing but then the sun moves out of his range and he has to do what he can to be able to get on the window. Im definitely struggling with things within maya but its a complex program so its only a given that it would have complications right?

More WIP images to come.

3D; Rough beginning WIP

Starting a new project, Its going to be a small animation-only ten seconds long-about a little figurine wanting to see outside the window and bask in the sunlight but certain…complications arise. Since the figurine itself has large jaws, I started roughing in the upper jaw in Sculptris. I’ll finesse it and start the lower jaw later. The room itself will be in a sort of home office space so I started roughing that in as well.

SLOWLY GETTING THERE~!

Pipeline Inspiration

Inspiration for a pipeline project that Im currently pondering about. I love storytelling and this really tickled my fancy both animation, story, and cutsey-but oh so dark-wise. I’ll be thinking more on specific details on what exactly I want to do but animation has to be existent somewhere in my project.

Maybe I’ll be able to do previous projects that I’ve always had in the works. Hmm. <~< I’ll see..

BUT FOR NOW INSPIRATION.
